The History, Heritage and Beauty of the Upper Swansea Valley
With an audience of 68 poeple which filled Coelbren
Miners' Welfare Hall, Basil Jenkyns took us on a guided tour of
the Upper Swansea Valley. From Crai to Abercrave, Basil's talk highlighted
the superb geology, history and stunning beauty of our valley. Everyone
who was spoken to, from newcomers to poeple who had lived their
lives here, said that they learned something new. No-one expected
the talk and slide show to cover such a diverse range of subjects.
Basil's wonderful style kept everyone enthralled for over two hours.
Refreshements were provided and Cynthia and those
helping did a sterling job at making sure we all had tea and home-made
cakes.
